Ever think, "Where am I?"

So I'm in this English class called "Myths and Legends" and I so did not think it through when I signed up for it. It was right after I had finished reading one of those Percy Jackson and the Olympian books (they're like a weak Harry Potter, but still entertaining) and I was searching courses and the description of Myths and Legends made it sound way more interesting than it actually turned out to be... not only is the material boring, but basically everyone in that class played swords in the park. You know who I mean. And for the record, I like everyone just fine. They're all very nice people, they're intelligent... but just not a whole lot of connections beaming between our interests and personalities.

Anyway, the real story here is the other day I'm in this class and one guy addresses the class with "the highest authority on werewolves today says..." And I just blanked. I didn't actually hear or see anything for the next 20 minutes because all I can think about is, "Where am I?"

"Where AM I?"

Sweet November

I am currently car-less so whenever I have errands to run, I must either take the bus or walk. I prefer walking, if it's not too far. Anyway, a couple days ago I walked to a local grocery store to get a few things. The weather has been very chill and nippy lately, so I made sure to bundle up (I do NOT like being cold). When I was at the store, I saw a lady go to the deli counter and get an ice cream cone and suddenly I had to have one too! I'm very bad at ignoring food cravings, I should be way fatter than I am. So, I went and got myself a medium twist cone (best of both worlds, thank you Miley Cyrus) and then had to walk half a mile-ish home in the cold rain while eating ice cream. At first I thought I might be crazy. But turns out, I loved myself for it. The ice cream was very satisfying, and I enjoyed watching the rain hit the soft serve and make little raindrop dents. It was also nice because I walked down a lane that follows a stream, and I had some nice alone time. Just me and my cone.
