chit chat

It's been a while since I've been on here so I thought I should make a contribution today or some random thoughts.
It seems like after you learn a new word or hear a word that you haven't heard in a long time, suddenly you hear it multiple times within days of the first hearing. Have you just been unobservant before or is this word actually being spoken more? That happened to me with the word via. It was just weird. I don't use the word via very often, but maybe everyone else does.
Meanwhile, I'm stuck on the words "chit chat." The past few weeks whenever I am talking about talking I use the phrase "chit chat." It's kinda getting on my nerves. I have to make conscious effort not to use it.
Further meanwhile, the lady next to me in the computer lab is typing up an essay which I can only imagine is due for finals which are just around the corner. My eyes may or may not have gotten a little wandery and I may or may not have read the first paragraph she had written. And straight off I can tell she's not a native English speaker. Do I say something? Like, "hey, noticed all your writing was terrible, maybe I can help you?" Dilemnas.
It reminds me of the time I was in the city library back home and I saw a 12 year old boy looking at porn. I didn't know what to do, but he got off a few minutes later and I let it go. Probably shame on me there.
I need more gumption.

  1. You saw a 12 year old looking at porn on a city library?

  3. I know what you mean! The word ‘Unprecedented’ has been used to unprecedented prepositions in the past year. And apathy was a bit overused there for a little while there too…although…I’m not the one always saying them whilst I chit-chat with the ladies.

And I say! Libraries are for speaking up! It’s the perfect environment to be heard. I’ve gone on plenty of my tantrums and soapboxes there, with such a politely quite audience.

  4. I decided a long time ago libraries are like torture for me, i hear and see people do stupid stuff.... yet i can't say anything about it.

case in point (in case you are wondering)
girl sitting next to me on the computer talking to herself while typing away.... annoying? yes. do i say something? you so much very want to.... but its like you CAN'T... its the library. you can't "talk" much less criticize...

thus was born: the crazy glare/look out of the corner of your eye to let that annoying person next to you know that they should stop. because you are well aware of their dumbness and how annoying they are to not only you, but EVERYONE Else as well.

    sigh...
hopefully my rant gave you some new Vocabulary words to roll around in your head.
are you still thinking about Alaska?
